for the future

Our Vision

We strive to be a community committed to giving the fruit of our labor to those in need of nourishment, discipleship, and care; Viewing others as more important than ourselves as it drives us to action until we have nothing left to give. We hope to deploy our long term strategy in three phases where we feel God is currently leading us and our organization. We will plan for the future while adjusting to the circumstances that God places us in.

Phase 1

Nourishment to Those in Need

Our current phase; We begin with fundraising and our first planting season; Establishing two orchards and expanding another. This summer of 2023, we will plant our first annual gardens, begin the process of rotational grazing, and raise and establish our laying hen flocks at the properties within the organization. We plan to learn, improve, and expand our systems every year to provide more food and greater varieties to people in need. There are many more goals that are included within this phase in order to facilitate phase one being a success. We ask for your support and prayer.

Phase 2

Discipleship

Hoping to launch in 2024, Hands for Harvest will be offering discipleship to children from ages 13-18. Our focus will be on teaching the bible, wood working, caring for plants and animals and much more. We believe that teaching and instructing the next generation in caring for others is vital for our country’s future. In addition, we hope to begin our “Grow a Garden” program, where we will teach the families we are partnered with to grow their own food, adapted to whatever situation that they find themselves in.

Phase 3

Care

Aiming for 2026-27, we desire to expand our land and to gain one or more homesteads in our area under Hands for Harvest. As part of this expansion we hope to provide one of the locations for those who are in need of healing from sex trafficking or abuse. Here they will be ministered to by our therapist who will live at this location and provide them with the opportunity to grow their own individual gardens, plant, harvest, and heal in this quiet and nurturing environment. At a separate location we desire to house two to three individuals who have left the prison system or are homeless. These individuals will be given the opportunity to gain skills, work for the non-profit and network for future job placements.
