Our Vision

Growing Food, Growing Faith, Growing Futures

Hands for Harvest's Vision

At Hands for Harvest, our vision is bold yet rooted in faith:
To build a statewide network of small farms and homesteads across Wisconsin, united by the mission to end food insecurity and empower families to thrive.

We believe that when families are fed, relationships are nurtured, and young people are trained to care for others—our communities flourish.

To bring this vision to life, we’re pursuing a three-phase plan fueled by community partnerships, regenerative agriculture, and Gospel-centered service.

Phase 01

Grow the Community

The first step of our vision begins with cultivating what we’ve been given.

Our goals in Phase One include:

  • Growing our network of small farms, homesteads, and gardens across Southern Wisconsin

  • Empowering our current gardeners and farmers to increase food production through training, support, and connection

  • Building our own central farm and fully optimizing our land for sustainable, year-round productivity

  • Distributing nutrient-dense food to families in need through our Sponsor a Family model

  • Forming intentional partnerships with local farms, churches, and food ministries to multiply our impact

  • Keeping our organization intimate and nimble—scaling through people, not just platforms

We are in an exciting season of laying the foundation for long-term growth.
With your help—through giving, volunteering, and prayer—we are sowing seeds of transformation across communities in need.

Phase 03

Expanding Our Ministry Reach

As we grow, we seek to be attentive to God's leading.

Phase Three is about expanding our reach to serve those on the margins—through strategic partnerships with other ministries that align with our mission.

We are currently exploring partnerships with organizations that:

  • Provide jobs and shelter for men re-entering society after incarceration

  • Support young men aging out of foster care who need meaningful work and belonging

  • Serve women recovering from sex trafficking, helping them rebuild their lives

  • Run small food banks and community kitchens in underserved areas

We invite you to pray with us as we seek God’s direction in these areas.
This phase is not about growing our brand—but about growing God’s Kingdom through faithful presence and deep partnerships.

Phase 02

Discipleship & Teaching the Next Generation

We believe that feeding families is just the beginning.
The second phase of our vision focuses on discipleship and skill-building, especially among boys and young men who spend their summers working alongside us on the farm.

Our hopes for Phase Two:

  • Launching a robust discipleship and mentorship program, focused on spiritual growth and life skills

  • Teaching gardening, animal care, woodworking, and other hands-on skills rooted in stewardship and purpose

  • Raising up young men who love God, love others, and take ownership of their communities

  • Expanding our “Grow a Garden” program to help families learn to grow food wherever they are—rural or urban, yard or balcony

We see this as an opportunity to invest in the future of our country and our faith, one young life at a time.

A Vision Rooted in the Gospel

Hands for Harvest is more than a food ministry. We are a community of believers committed to ending food insecurity, discipling future leaders, and glorifying God through every seed planted.

From regenerative agriculture to relational discipleship, every part of our vision is guided by Scripture and prayer.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” – Proverbs 16:3

Help Us Make This Vision a Reality

We cannot do this alone.
To grow, to disciple, and to expand—we need your prayers, your generosity, and your partnership.

Even a small monthly gift helps us plan with consistency and serve more families faithfully.
Together, we can end food insecurity in Wisconsin and raise up generations who care deeply, serve well, and live to the glory of God.
