How Hands for Harvest Works
At Hands for Harvest, we use regenerative agriculture to grow and provide high-quality food to families in need. But more than that—we offer real connection, care, and hope.
Here’s how our process works:
01
Step 1: Application & Review
A family in need fills out a simple application for support.
Once submitted, our board member and sponsor coordinator personally calls to learn more about their situation and determine eligibility.
02
Step 2: Assessing the Need
We evaluate the family’s size and level of need to determine how much food we can offer each month. Depending on available resources, we strive to provide 10–40% of a family’s food intake.
Our monthly deliveries often include:
-
Grass-fed beef and lamb
-
Fresh eggs
-
Homemade bread
-
Seasonal fruits and vegetables
Example: A single mom raising several children and living below the poverty line may qualify for support closer to 40% of their intake.
03
Step 3: Matched with a Sponsor Family
Once approved, the family is matched with a sponsor family at our next board meeting.
Sponsor families:
-
Make first contact and arrange the initial food drop-off
-
Begin building a relationship through prayer and conversation
-
Offer encouragement and a steady connection
04
Step 4: Ongoing Relationship & Support
Food deliveries continue once a month, but the relationship doesn’t stop there.
Sponsor families stay connected, offering prayer, listening ears, and support as new needs arise.
As trust grows, families are often connected with:
-
Local churches and faith communities
-
Services for housing, childcare, and employment
-
Emotional and spiritual encouragement

Step 5: Transition & Celebration
Our support is intended to help families through challenging seasons, not to be permanent.
When a family reaches a more stable place—financially or otherwise—we celebrate that win with them. From there, we transition support to a new family in need.
